A new term has appeared in the bioethics lexicon, namely neuro, ethics, a term that is beginning to appear regularly in the mainstream neuroscience literature. The introduction of a new term like this conveys a couple of overriding messages. The first is that the ethical issues within neuroscience are distinct from those of all other areas within bioethics. The second is that neuroscience is replete with ethical challenges of momentous dimensions.
